Thay hummed to herself as she urged Aggro to keep up his pace as he trotted lazily along the trail. She looked above her, and spotted Skye, her female Saker falcon flying high against the sun, hiding from any potential prey. She sighed and turned her attention to the land around her. To the right of her was the Illiais Jungle, to the right of her open land of the Daviian Plateau. She was keeping to the border, curiosity of what was on the plateau keeping her close to the border between it and the land of the Zaltana clan.
As the sun shone down on her, Aggro gave a snort, and Thay gave a small chuckle. He was being unusually lazy today, and it was rare for him to be so, and she wasn’t sure why. She patted his withers, and felt the heat coming from the smooth black hair. It was still a bit of a trek to where she wanted to practice her riding and hunting. It wasn’t too inhabited out here, which is what she liked, and although a bit of a ride, she didn’t mind the distance and loved to get Aggro into full gallop. She smiled slightly to herself, quickly readjusting her bag and other possessions. She kicked into Aggro’s flank, giving a small noise to urge him into his run.
It didn’t take long for Aggro to reach his full speed, which Thay had always been impressed about, and she let her hands slip the reigns placing them high in the air, letting the world slip past her as they hurtled down the trail. Her long hair streamed behind her and she closed her eyes to stop the cool air drying them out. She heard Skye call, and opened her eyes momentarily to see Skye following at a similar speed. Thay laughed to herself and closed her eyes.
After a while, she slowed Aggro down, knowing there was a small spring coming up where they could all refresh themselves. Once in a walk Thay patted down Aggro, telling him how wonderful he was. He whinnied back, which made Thay laugh. She sat back up and let a long whistle leave her lips. She held out her right hand to an equal height of her shoulders. She winced slightly as the talons of her Saker falcon inflicted small wounds into her flesh, her arm dipping slightly from the weight. She looked at her scrawny falcon before bringing her in, and kissing her lightly on the top of the head, which in return got her a nip on her chin. She let out a small ‘ow’ before halting Aggro, demounting of his back as gracefully as one could with a falcon on their arm. She placed Skye on a thin leather strip across Aggro’s hindquarters, where she balanced precariously as Thay led Aggro to the water.
Thay checked about her absentmindedly, pretty sure that no one would be here, so not bothering to be cautious. She let Aggro drink, and heard Skye chatter to herself, as she bent down on her haunches, scooping some of the cool water in her hands, and splashing it on her face. She let herself fall back, to sit on the ground, stroking Aggro’s muzzle lightly as he drank, before he turned and nuzzled her, dripping water and saliva all over her. Thay laughed and pushed his head away from her, making him nicker loudly.
I hope this is ok, as I wasn't too sure how to start it off. ^^ So I hope you can get in somewhere, which I am sure you can do. =]

He could hear voices. Actually, it was just one voice and an answering whinny, but regardless of what was making the noises, it meant that there was someone here that should not be. Andreas swiftly and silently removed his sword from its sheath, moving in the direction the voice had come from. Judging by its apparent location the woman (he could tell it was a woman by the sound of her voice. Either that, or it was a very feminine man) and her horse were going to stop for water at a nearby spring. He would be able to sneak up on her there and see if she was a threat.
He neared her location and watched her dismount and glance around quickly, obviously not looking very hard for possible threats. As such, he could deduct that she herself was not a threat, however he couldn't simply assume such a thing from one action. As she and her horse drank, he put a quick and simple cloaking spell over him, not so much making him invisible as helping him blend into the colours and shadows around them. It was just so he could get close to her without her or her horse noticing, although with all their fooling around he doubted that would be an issue. When he got close enough to her to attack if needed, but not too close to be attacked easily (physically, at any rate. She would still be able to attack with some sort of magic) he lifted the cloaking spell and spoke, holding his sword at the ready. "State your name and business here, foreigner." [/blockquote]

Thay was oblivious to the fact that she was being watched. She was usually quite good at detecting people, but messing about with Aggro caused her to not pay attention to the world around her. She hadn't been caught or even seen in a long time, so was more relaxed, letting her guard down.
She jumped as she heard the words. She quickly stood up and twisted to where the voice was, pulling the small dagger from her knee high boots, startling Aggro, who scattered a safe distance away. Not what she needed. Her main weapons were on his back. She stood staring at the man in front of her, breathing heavily as she eyed the sword he held in front of her.
She didn't think it wise to run. Even calling Aggro would be risky, and she knew someone would get hurt, and she was not going to risk either Aggro or Skye getting hurt. Plus, by the size of him, she wasn't going to be able to outrun him. She looked him over, before fixing her eyes to his, trying to decipher how much of a threat to her he was.
In her mind she went over her options, still keeping the eye contact up, trying to hide the fear that was starting to well up in her. She could give her name and why she was here, she could lie and give false information, or she could say nothing at all. She lowered her dagger ever so slightly, not wanting to seem like a threat. "Who are you?"

The woman, surprised by his sudden appearance no doubt, jumped around and pulled a dagger from her boot. He watched her warily as she caught her breath and seemed to think things over. Oh come on - name and business; it wasn't a difficult question. Why was it taking her so long to reply then? Was she planning to attack him? That would be an unwise decision on her part, with only her dagger to use against him. But no, she wasn't planning to attack him, nor was she even thinking of a reply to his question. It seemed that she had her own question, one that she somehow thought was more important than his, despite the fact that she was the foreigner, not him. But he answered despite the proper order of things. "My name is Andreas Daviian, and I believe I asked you first." [/blockquote]

Thay took a step back, still unsure of whether the man in front of her was trustworthy or not. She heard Aggro give an aggravated grunt from behind her, starting to paw at the ground, not liking the tension. She heard the small bell on Skye’s leg ring shrilly as she took off, and Thay let her head move round to see where she was going. She quickly snapped it back round, not wanting to make herself an easy target.
As the now acquainted Andreas spoke, she gave a small smirk, trying to stall as much time as possible. She wasn’t keen on giving her name to anyone, but she would out of courtesy, seeing as he had given hers. However, she would not be giving out any details of why she was here, if she could help it. It was her secret, and she was not going to share it with this stranger in front of her.
”My name is Thajra Mahina, and it is a pleasure to meet you Andreas Daviian.” Again, delyaing time. She wondered why one of the Daviian’s would apporach her, but then she remembered she was on their border. She gave a small smile, again lowering the dagger more, but not fully.

He continued to watch her warily as she smirked and replied, introducing herself as Thajra Mahina. What an odd name. As far as he was aware, there was no 'Mahina' clan, which meant that she may be from Ixia. He frowned slightly, wondering what she wanted here. She didn't look threatening and she had given him her name (adding that it was a pleasure to meet him, although he was sure that was just because it was polite rather than because it was true), which meant that whatever business she had wasn't to cause trouble. Andreas sheathed his sword when he decided this, not worried about her making a move while he was unarmed. If she did, he had more to attack her with than just a sword. In fact, she would probably be worse off if she dared to attack him now; a sword would cut, but some of the spells he knew... Well, they weren't quite so kind. "Where are you from?" [/blockquote]

Thay watched as Andreas sheathed his sword. She felt instantly more comfortable, but wasn't going to risk being caught off guard, as she knew many people who took refuge in Sitia were in possession of skills that had been banished from Ixia. She risked her life every time she entered the area, but she wouldn't stop. Out of courtesy, she replaced her dagger back into the strap around her leg, while not letting her eyes drop from the man, sure that he could attack her if he wanted. Although, when she thought about it, if he had some magical power, then he could easily attack her whether she was looking or not. However, she was sure he would not attack, for perhaps the same reason, they didn't know each others powers. She wondered momentarily how far she could push him, what his limits were. She gave a coy smile, as he spoke, quickly brushing a long strand of loose hair behind her ear, picking over her words in her mind. "Not from here." As she heard Aggro snort again, she placed one hand behind her, wiggling her fingers slightly, to try to show him that she was slightly more relaxed. She heard him move, and was surprised to feel the hairs on his nose touch her fingers lightly. He didn't like strangers and wouldn't often come close, unless charging them. She tried not to let shock be apparent on her face, as she stroked Aggro behind her back, before staring at Andreas again.

The woman skirted his question by giving what could barely even quality as an answer and he rolled his eyes. Alright then, he could be sure she was not a threat to him or his people, seeing as how she had not attacked him yet or run away. She wasn't dangerous, just annoying. However, when she put one hand behind her back he had his suspicions for a moment as to what she could be doing. Getting a weapon? Possibly. However, it was no such thing. She was simply petting her horse. He raised an eyebrow, rolled his eyes, and laughed. "You are insufferable, do you know that?"

Thay tried not to laugh as he rolled his eyes. She had noticed that a lot of people did that when she spoke. As Aggro nudged her back lightly, and she had to step forwards to avoid falling, she turned and scowled at him, grabbing his reigns gently and making sure he didn't do it again. As Andreas laughed she looked back up to him, and smiled, catching the end of yet another eye rolling. As he spoke she chuckled. "I have heard that." She chuckled again, and relaxed even more, knowing now that there was no real chance he would attack her. She glanced him over again, now with a more calm state of mind.
[That is fine. ^^ I don't mind, and it wasn't that bad. xP]

He supposed he should let her go on her merry way now that he could be certain she wasn't a threat. However, he couldn't really be certain. For all he knew she could just be a very good actress and as soon as she got out of his sight she could go attack his village or some such thing. Wouldn't that just be a slap in the face. But those worries were unfounded. "Very well then, I have no reason to detain you any longer. It was... interesting to have met you, Thajra." He bowed with a flourish before turning to leave. He was a patrol today, so he couldn't get caught up in any one thing for too long; who knew who else might be sneaking up on his family at this very moment, while he was wasting away time with a girl who was obviously of no consequence.

Thay smiled, not really sure if she wanted to carry on to her destination, unsure if this Andreas would follow her or not, as she was sure that he didn't fully trust her, as she didn't fully trust him. Also, this was very common in Sitia to be suspicious of strangers, as you never knew who was a danger or not. And she supposed the Daviian's had more reason to be protective over their people. She nodded as he spoke, trying to work out what she should do after he left. "It was nice to meet you Andreas, but may I ask you, why are you so close to the border, and in what direction would you be heading in?" She cursed herself as the words slipped from her mouth. She hadn't meant to say that, and she knew that that would be seen as suspicious. She smiled weakly and waited for the consequences.

Thajra spoke to him as he turned to leave and he stopped. He was no more suspicious of her now than he had been a moment earlier, but it was a suspicious sort of question. Why did she care what direction he was heading in now? He could think of a few reasons, none of which were pleasant, but he kept them to himself and turned back to her. He wasn't about to lie; she had never given him a reason to suspect her of anything but accidental trespassing. "I wasn't originally this close to the border, but I heard you coming and decided to investigate. One can never be too careful. And if you must know, I'm going East. If I find, however, that later today my people are attacked from the West..." He figured she could get his drift. If his people were attacked from where he wasn't, the next time he came across Thajra Mahina it would not be a friendly encounter. He knew, though, that he couldn't just blame her without evidence, because for all he knew some other people could just feel like coming in from the West and attacking and it could have nothing at all to do with her. Thay smiled, more relaxed, and glad her big mouth hadn't got her in trouble yet again. Her expression faltered slightly as the warning in his words struck her. She glanced down momentarily, and then looked back up at him, frowning slightly. "I wouldn't attack anybody, I am not like the soldiers from Ixia, I do not kill for a reason. And even if I was heading west, that doesn't mean there is any conspiracy. I am sure I wouldn't make it over the plateau to one of the camps anyway." She knew she was snarling her reply slightly, but she had to stick up for herself. She was sure that her appearance here was slightly odd, and especially when she wasn't really giving any details about who she was, and where she had come from, and for what. She smiled bleakly, before turning, slightly moody now, pushing Aggro out of the way, walking towards where Skye now sat on a low branch of a tree.

"That may be, but my people do not survive by being trusting." She walked away from him and he noticed a bird in a nearby tree. Must be hers; no actual bird would allow a person to get that close. At any rate, their conversation was finished and she didn't seem to be in a very good mood so he decided it was time to take his leave. Technically he had decided that a while back, but he had been called back when she had spoken to him again. Now that she also appeared to be leaving he turned and went on his way.

Thay snorted a quiet laughter as she heard him speak. She glanced back momentarily before muttering to herself. "That is why you are so isolated, you should be able to trust in Sitia, but no, the Commander's power is seeping into these lands." She stopped as she reached Skye, calling her to her hand, and stroking her gently. As she turned around to make sure Aggro was here, she saw Andreas wandering the other way. She gave a small sigh. She had left a bad impression and didn't want to, as that was not how her brother had told her to be. She grumbled slightly, then grabbed Aggro's reigns, letting Skye wobble about on her arm, sinking her talons in more as she scrambled up unto his back. She urged him on after Andreas, following him at a walk, watching his back as he trundled along.
